Boat Records

Boat Records Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 21, 2026

Boat Records is designed as a private, local-first iPhone app for keeping boat, component, maintenance, document, service history, checklist, search, and export records.

Data Collection

The current Boat Records v1 app does not require an account and does not collect personal data for the developer.

Boat records, component records, maintenance records, service history, checklists, imported documents, and generated exports are stored locally on the user's device unless the user chooses to share, export, back up, or move those files through iOS features such as Files, AirDrop, Mail, iCloud Drive, or another share destination.

Tracking

Boat Records does not track users across apps or websites owned by other companies.

Analytics And Advertising

Boat Records does not include third-party advertising, ad attribution, or analytics SDKs in the current v1 app.

Camera And Document Scanning

Boat Records may request camera access when the user chooses to scan a boat document into the local document vault. Camera access is used only for that user-initiated scanning flow.

The app does not use OCR, AI extraction, or a hosted processing service for the core v1 document workflow.

In-App Purchases

Boat Records Premium subscriptions are handled by Apple StoreKit. Apple processes subscription purchases, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and payment details. Boat Records uses StoreKit entitlement state to unlock premium export features.

User Control

Users control the records and documents they create in Boat Records. Users may export records, share generated files, delete local records, or remove the app from their device using standard iOS behavior.

Changes

This policy may be updated when the app changes. Material changes should be reviewed before publishing a new App Store version.
